In other news, our friends told us about a house in Edgewood, NM that is next door to them and a great deal. We looked at it on Tuesday night and were really impressed. It is a 3,045 sq foot, rammed earth home on 5 acres of land. Southwestern, flat-roof style is not my preference, but the home is just high quality, beautiful in its uniqueness, and seems very comfortable. We are praying about it, with our friends & family, but right now the plan is to return Wed night with our realtor and friends to do a more thorough structural inspection of the home. Then, maybe make an offer.....? It has been a very thought-provoking matter to weigh... lots of things to consider moving outside the city, creating a commute, changing communities, etc. We would still work the same places, attend MHC, and see our friends, but it would be different. However, we would have our own place, be away from the crowded city & noisy neighborhoods, have plenty of space to grow things..... It's always been a dream of ours to live "out in the country" but didn't really think it was possible until later in life.
This morning Pastor Mark talked about the "Times of the Gentiles" from Luke 21. One of the things that struck me today was how the Jews worshiped the Temple so much that the actual place became more important than Jesus. He promised to destroy the Temple, not abolishing but fulfilling Judaism. Other peoples go to Salt Lake City to worship their gods or journey to Mecca. What it comes down to is that there shouldn't be any place that you run to.... Not Jerusalem. Not Utah. Not the NE Heights or the East Mountains. Go to Jesus. Plain & simple. This reminded me that its not where we live that matters so much as it is your heart. Love & worship Jesus. Here in ABQ. Out in Edgewood. Wherever you are. Go to Jesus.
