Paperwork APPROVED!!!!

Exciting news to share... our EP was approved on May 12th!!!

If you don’t know what that means, check out the last post here.

This was a huge surprise because EP approvals were taking about 3months, so we didn’t expect to hear anything until the end of June. It only took 6 weeks for step #2 of 6 in the Exit Process (Step #1: EP submission was 3/30/17) and we are so thankful for answered prayers!!!!

Now that the Korean govt has approved our paperwork, our case will be submitted to the court.  ESWS, the Korean agency, will let us know when that happens. Once submitted, our case will be assigned to one of the adoption judges and a court hearing date will be set.

Lately, from court submission to court date has been about 3 months.  Fortunately, the judges seem to be doing their work to confirm the birth parent’s continued agreement to the adoption BEFORE setting the court date, so the final approvals have been coming through without additional delays. Once that occurs, Gideon will be legally ours and we should be able to publicly share photos of him! He is 19months old and being lovingly cared for by his foster family. Since things are moving along quicker than expected, now we need to get to work so we are ready to go to Korea!!! :)

We are hoping that Court will be sometime in August and we can take custody (aka bring him home) in September!!!!

Please continue to pray....
  • for a court date & continued progression in a timely manner
  • for us as we figure out international travel, cultural considerations, etc.
  • for Gideon's health & well being, and his transition to new EVERYTHING
  • for Lily's adjustment to being a big sister
  • for peace among the nations and no interference from N. Korea

Thank you! Blessings!!

  1. Hallelujah and praise be to God Almighty, Ruler of Heaven and Earth! I'm already praying fervently on all levels that Gideon is protected both physically and spiritually throughout the entire process, and that your family is likewise embraced by the peaceful Love of God that transcends all understanding. I invite other Brothers and Sisters in Christ, our risen Savior, to do likewise over the coming months as this process reaches its fruitful conclusion... Be blessed always! Keep looking UP!!!
