Galatians 4:4-7 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.
As Meghan and I started the adoption process two and a half years ago, we began learning that we have a great opportunity to reflect the Gospel. Adoption went from a solution to having a family to becoming a great joy and privilege of reflecting what God, our Father, has done for us.
This week, on Monday February 10, at 6:50am we had the great joy of reflecting our heavenly father when we met our daughter, Lily Rebecca, measuring 7lbs, 8 oz and 20.5 inches long. Since then we have delighted in falling in love with her as we get to care for her. Please pray for us in the completion of our adoption as we will begin to finalize the process within the next couple of weeks. Thank you to each of you who have prayed, given generously, and invested in our adoption! You have helped bring Lily home to us, and made us a family of three.
Luke 12:22-34
“Do not be anxious about your life... Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”
We chose to name our daughter Lily to remind us of God’s incredible grace and provision over our lives, and especially demonstrated through this adoption.
Today we had the privilege of bringing Lily home! Please join us in praying for Becky(the birth mom), as she is still in the hospital with pneumonia.
For God’s Glory and our great joy!!!
*Love,
Jacob, Meghan and Lily
