Ojo Caliente

looking down from the hills
This past Tuesday, Jacob and I escaped for a quick one-night getaway to a new destination: Ojo Caliente. This cozy little retreat is located about 30 minutes north of Espanola, NM. What a find it was! It's a very small place with natural hot springs (no sulphur), hotel rooms, cabins and even a camping/RV area! We stayed in one of the cottages at the Ojo Caliente Mineral Resort & Spa

restaurant & hotel

The North cottages were stocked with one bedroom, a bathroom with a shower only, and a small kitchenette including 2 chairs, a small table, a microwave & a mini refrigerator. Just the right size for the two of us. :)

our cottage #22

Entrance to the springs is included with your lodging, as well as locker use, towels and amazing robes! The pools are open 8am to 10pm everyday and range from 87º to 107º. It was so relaxing to dip in and out, lay in the sun, and come & go throughout your stay. And better yet, no yucky sulphur smells!!

Cliffside Pools

loved the hammocks!

The Iron Pool (see below)

Every pool has different natural elements that promoted healing therapies. Iron, Sodium Bicarbonate, even Arsenic! The bath houses, where you shower before & after, were also nice. Around the resort are hiking & biking trails as well. We didn't get to explore them much this trip, but hopefully will return someday soon! Fortunately, we were able to work on our Reverse Engineering homework & get a lot done. This was from the last sermon in our "Real Marriage" series at church.

All in all a great choice. Can't wait to go back.
