FREEDOM

$3, 066, 670 was raised in the names of Jesus and freedom - for the 27 million slaves around the world....  Passion events and Passion City Church have always been about actively joining causes in our communities and around the world to spread the fame of Jesus, but this year instead of including numerous charities and causes, there was one focus - modern day slavery. This includes sex trafficking, factory slaves, and bonded labor for 27 million men, women and children! It's heartbreaking. This is not a thing of the past. Nor an international problem. It's going on right now, right here, in your cities.

Check out these links to learn about human trafficking, spread the news, and find out how you can help:

  • Passion 2012's goal of $1 million was far surpassed -- here is what we are supporting! Do Something NOW - be sure to watch the video on this page to see how these ministries are really changing the world!
  • CNN did a great story on our cause!

  • This blog is also from CNN about the part that Passion 2012 students played in their mission: "This year CNN will join the fight to end modern-day slavery and shine a spotlight on the horrors of modern-day slavery, amplify the voices of the victims, highlight success stories and help unravel the complicated tangle of criminal enterprises trading in human life."Check out CNN's The Freedom Project.

  •  5 Stones International addresses the effects of human slavery here in Albuquerque, NM. The average age of a child sold into slavery is 12-13 years old, with some being as young as 4 years old that are sold for sex!

  • GOOGLE is providing $11.5 million dollars towards the fight against modern day slavery by supporting 10 ministries, including IJM, who works to rescue victims of slavery and sexual exploitation in about a dozen countries.

  • Here is a great site to find out how much you, yes YOU, are supporting human slavery. It is not a question of "if". Slavery Footprint takes into account what you eat, what you wear, what kind of electronics and jewelry you own, & how you live.... Based on my initial answers, my lifestyle employs 46 slaves around the world. Yikes. That's 46 PEOPLE who are not being paid, working for me!!! What about you?
  •  Watch what USA Today had to say about the students at Passion 2012.

We can make a difference!!!! Spread awareness. Raise your voice for those without them and support the cause of freedom!
