Wow. Buying a new old home is a LOT of work! Trying to fit in all the house stuff around working, J starting Paramedic School, and still living our lives has been tough. Hence, the absence of new blogs.Well, we also went to Denver for a couple days over Labor Day and made a not-so-quick-stop at IKEA. Got lots of great things for the house! Curtains, comforter, shelves, organizational stuff, a coffee table.... exhausting though! I HIGHLY recommend never going to IKEA over a holiday weekend (if you can help it). Bad idea. Anyway, it was worth it.
We have been living in our new home for about 2 months now. Time sure flies! We love it. The location, the neighborhood, the backyard.... we are so thankful for this blessing! Our old place was cleaned out and now has new renters. J is doing great in P school, learning lots as the instructors speed through their A&P book.... still leading and loving our CG. MHC started a new series through the book of Esther this past week. I'm excited for it!!!
Alright, guess you wanna see some "After" pics, huh?

Not done yet, but it looks like a home! Still have to finish replacing baseboards, changing out light switches, hanging curtains, etc. Slowly but surely!
A lot of people have asked us how the adoption process is going. Well, the past 3 months of insanity had us focused on the house. Which is an important part of the adoption. See, the next major step is the homestudy. So, while we were moving and everything, the adoption stuff was put on hold until we got settled. Now we can finish our paperwork and prepare for the home inspection, interviews, etc. That will be the next step. We will also start working on our photo book profile, which is what the birthmom will review before choosing a family. Then, it's "patiently wait".
So, thank you to all of you who have been praying for us, have given generously, and who are inquiring. In order to stay accountable and inform people of where their donated money is going, we will be posting a breakdown of all the costs and fees. We are so excited to move forward and be one step closer to bringing home that little baby!
Gansk, it looks great!!
